Tram and train tickets after 6pm

If you purchase a 2 hour tram ticket in the city (Melbourne), well Im sure almost anywhere near the city, and you validate it after 6pm, then it will remain valid until the end of service for the day (3am) which is great when you go out after 6pm, after work, drinking, eating, whatever…. enjoy.

that was a nice thought, I mean I always buy a 2 hour to get home after work, and I go shopping and then buy another one at about 8, so if I validate after 6 it goes all night?
One of the city’s lovely surprises. 2hr tickets will run till 3am wherever you are, as long as you validate it after 6pm. I live out in the suburbs, and it still works for me. For a long time I used to buy dailys to go out for dinner and drinks at night, until someone finally told me. What’s most frustrating is when you must buy a ticket at say, 5:45, and so, if you’re out late, a daily is your only choice.
Now… when is that myki coming out again?
