Things to consider when renting

1 weekly zone 1 full fare Metcard costs +- $25, so if there are 2 of you, thats $200 a month.
Now this poses the question, is renting a more expensive place in the city really more expensive. The way I see it, you have to save $200 a month in rent to make it worth while, I live in the city and pay roughly $300 a week, but I save $200 a month on Metcards and a whole load of time not sitting on a train. Just consider these things..
thats all folks.

I agree you should keep transport costs and time in mind when you think about rent. But with time you have to be a bit more careful: are you actually planning on working these extra hours (=more income) or will you spend them drinking beer (=more expenses)?
I think what she/he means is that if you live closer to the place you work, then you dont have to sit on a train for an extra 2 hours a day, that way you have an extra 2 hours a day.
Public Transport @ peek hours is reason enough to consider moving into the city.
