Sunday Saver Tram Tickets

On Sundays in the city (Melbourne), instead of buying a daily (which they will still sell you) ask for a “Sunday Saver” ticket. They cost I think $2.90 and it gives you 3 zones all day. This is a life saver if you usually would spend $6.50 for a zone 1. Now this is only on Sundays but there is a rumour that in mid April there will also be “Weekend Savers”

Ticket machines don’t have a Sunday Saver option however (at least, as far as I know)so make sure you buy it from a person. You’ll just get a normal weekday ticket otherwise.
I hope they introduce Weekend Savers. It would be such a blessing. They do it of course to encourage more people to head into the city outside weekdays and spend money - but I don’t care. Cheap tickets are still lovely.
Weekend Savers are comming, and living in the city we are really looking forward to them! Although I have a feeling they can only be bought in packs of 10 at this stage.
Yeah, they have weekend savers now - just bought one yesterday! It costs 14,50$ and gives you 5 dailys(zone 1&2 ..there is no zone 3 anymore) for sundays and saturdays - so it’s 2,90$ for each. By the way, you won’t get these tickets at ticket machines they are only sold at the counter in train stations or in metlink shops.
Woohoo, thats great, we have been waiting for a “Saturday saver” for soo long. Thats awesome!
