Cheap Dumplings on Tattersals Lane in Melbourne CBD.

Awesome and very fast, on busy night (Thurs - Sat) they get you in and out asap. BYO is a bonus but their beer is pretty cheap. Its the fast hot tasty food that gets you though, try Chili Oil Dumplings and the Steamed Veges.

An essential for all Melbourne visitors/residents alike.

yeh this place is good and it is next to another good place called section 8. the dumplings are very nice and cheap, and the section 8 is a nightclub that is outside and has shipping containers as the bar.

Thanks Andrew, we think Section 8 is great also, stay posted for a post about some other cool bars we have found around the place!

Also try the Hare Krishna places on Swanston Street. One of them is called Crossways (this is better value, but only open for lunch), and the other is Gopals. They’re incredibly cheap and you get more than enough to eat. Fantastic vegetarian Krishna stew with rice, pudding&custard desert, and as much orange cordial you could possibly swallow!
They are both upstairs on Swanston st. - to get there find the little doorways opening onto the street between Collins and Bourke.

Thanks for the tip Nick, we will check out these places ASAP, its always great to hear of good cheap eateries especially ones with good vege options!

This is the best place for quick and easy eats!
Really cheap food, if you are going with a group! My only displeasure would be the services! The service is a bit rude when it comes to learning specific skills regarding Superior Customer Service Relations. I guess when you have as many people coming as this place does it will effect the services. Still this place is a must see!
P.S. Beware for the constant Birthday music!
