Free live jazz and funk in Brisbane

Probe is one of our writers currently residing in Brisbane and he was kind enough to send us a list of live gigs currently making the rounds in that city. Thanks Probe
The following venues consistently have live jazz/funk music in Brisbane:
- The Press Club is on Brunswick st in Fortitude Valley (in the first block after the mall)
- The Glass Bar is on Brunswick st in Fortitude Valley about two blocks down from the mall (going away from the Brunswick st train station)
- The Bowery is on Ann st near the top of Brunswick st Mall in Fortitude Valley (on the same side of the road as the mall)
- Alhambra Lounge is on McLachlan st, Fortitude Valley, (turn right from Brunswick st one block from the top of the mall)
Wednesday
The Press Club has jazz from 9.30pm.
The Glass Bar has a jazz band playing from 8.30pm.
Thursday
The Bowery has a live funk band from 9.30-ish.
The Glass Bar has a funk band playing from 8.30pm.
Friday
QPAC at Southbank hosts local jazz acts from 5.30-7.30pm in their Cascade Court
Sunday
The Press Club has funk a band from 9.30pm.
The Alhambra Lounge has the amazing latin band Chu’kale from 9.30pm. Entry is free before 8pm. $5 afterwards but definitely worth it!
