I think what she/he means is that if you live closer to the place you work, then you dont have to sit on a train for an extra 2 hours a day, that way you have an extra 2 hours a day.

I agree you should keep transport costs and time in mind when you think about rent. But with time you have to be a bit more careful: are you actually planning on working these extra hours (=more income) or will you spend them drinking beer (=more expenses)?

Yep, I love Red Pepper Indian and the Moroccan Soup Bar, too!

I'm also devoted to:
- Lord of the Fries, vege burgers and chips in the city;
- Shakahari in Carlton, for a slightly up-market vego meal;
- Bowl of Soul in Port Melbourne, for faux-meat burgers and hot dogs, also choc-covered dried figs to die for!
- The White Lotus near the Queen Vic Markets has great Chinese faux-meat for a somewhat pricey $17 per plate.

HAHA, thanks, wow, I would never have guessed Melb has such a big vege population, I love the "lord of the fries" burgers, 100% vegetarian beef flavoured burgers, and theyre pretty good, have a real "tang", although their chip portions sometimes seem a bit small?

Yeah, they have weekend savers now - just bought one yesterday! It costs 14,50$ and gives you 5 dailys(zone 1&2 ..there is no zone 3 anymore) for sundays and saturdays - so it's 2,90$ for each. By the way, you won't get these tickets at ticket machines they are only sold at the counter in train stations or in metlink shops.

Woohoo, thats great, we have been waiting for a "Saturday saver" for soo long. Thats awesome!

Neighbourhood Energy, 10% discount, no contracts, statements sent electronically
http://www.neighbourhood.com.au/

Cool, sounds like a good one too
The 10% is for on time payments, it applies if you pay on time, good incentive

I like the AGL one, they are good, well, they helped me. nice and good to phone and were quick. I am on a 5% discount rate or something, its good. Also they will let you pay bills in many ways.
I give them a star.
5% is regardless of weather you pay on time, but still thats not 10%, also can do with no contract
