Popular post-work hangout for smart-suited city types but with emphasis on booze not business. Drinks range from 18 gins to a dozen martinis but try the Industrial Revolution - a glass lined with black Luxardo Sambucca, filled with Siberian vodka and confectioner’s ball bearings. Decor is mismatched chairs and colourful sofas, be it the main bar or the separate side room. But whatever your poison, the Palace provides.

Grossi Florentino, The Grill and The Cellar Bar are all located at 80 Bourke St, Melbourne.

Last night we went to Grossi’s for dinner. Grossi Florentino is one of the best and expensive restaurants in Melbourne. We didn’t go there….we went next door to their Cellar Bar. If your looking for delicious, simple food that you don’t have to/can’t cook yourself, accompanied by nice wine then this is the place for you… (more…)

Just off Flinders Lane between Swanston and Elizabeth lies Scott ally. On Scott Ally lies a little French creperie that is fantastic so far beyond any magnitude of my description. The friendly French staff will help you pronounce the French menu items and politely speak French, but help you in English with a sweet French accent, on the walls are French lessons and in the kitchen is the mouthwatering aroma of French crepes, with ham and cheese and eggs, or salmon. So many delicious meals, so little time. They serve both sweet crepes and the savoury ‘galette’ along with lovely French wines and cider. Perfect for breakfast lunch and dinner! I have tried 6 of their menu items thus far, and will be going back. The coffee is good the crepes are good the service is good and the price is who would have guessed.. Good. They are open most of the day Monday to Fridays as well as on Saturdays for a few hours; and are open later in the evenings on Friday. We love this little place and go as often as we can! Sitting at one of their outdoor tables on a Friday evening sipping wine or welcoming the day with a hot coffee and a chocolate crepe is one of our favourite things to do!
