Popular post-work hangout for smart-suited city types but with emphasis on booze not business. Drinks range from 18 gins to a dozen martinis but try the Industrial Revolution - a glass lined with black Luxardo Sambucca, filled with Siberian vodka and confectioner’s ball bearings. Decor is mismatched chairs and colourful sofas, be it the main bar or the separate side room. But whatever your poison, the Palace provides.

Section 8 is indeed fantastic, you’d think being as open as it is it might get cold but they have plenty of heating on chilly nights and its often quite busy so doesn’t get to drafty!  Section 8 is located on Tattersalls Lane next to Dumpling House.

After reading Andrews comment on Shanghi Dumpling house and his mention of Section 8, the bar next door I thought a post about some cool Melbourne Bars was in order!

Cheap Dumplings on Tattersals Lane in Melbourne CBD.

Awesome and very fast, on busy night (Thurs - Sat) they get you in and out asap. BYO is a bonus but their beer is pretty cheap. Its the fast hot tasty food that gets you though, try Chili Oil Dumplings and the Steamed Veges.

An essential for all Melbourne visitors/residents alike.
